Sign this Petition Calling for the Quebec Government to Authorize Doctors to Prescribe Hydroxychloroquine to COVID-19 Patients
The Prime Minister of Quebec,
Madam the Minister of Health of Quebec,
Mr. President of the College of Physicians of Quebec,
While hydroxychloroquine, combined with azithromycin, is proven to treat COVID-19 in several countries, the College of Physicians, without any valid reason, prohibits health professionals (doctors and pharmacists) from transmitting ‘prescriptions of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine in Quebec. However, several countries, cities and regions are adopting this treatment to treat and cure people infected with the coronavirus: United States, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, China, Iran, Netherlands, Belgium, Korea, India, New York, Lombardy , three Maghreb countries, New Brunswick, and more … In Quebec, Dr. Michel De Marchi confirmed that he had started using hydroxychloroquine for the treatment of COVID-19 at the Jewish General Hospital from Montreal.
It is inconceivable that the Government of Quebec prohibits health professionals from issuing prescriptions for chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine. By delaying the healing of the people – both medically and financially – while awaiting a hypothetical vaccine which would not be ready until 2021, the government is putting itself in the wrong since it favors special interests to the detriment of the general interest, the health and the very life of the population.
As stipulated in chapter C-12 of the Charter of human rights and freedoms, every human being has intrinsic rights and freedoms, intended to ensure his protection and fulfillment: “Every human being has the right to life, as well as ‘to the safety, integrity and liberty of the person’ (Your health rights).
THEREFORE, as free citizens of Quebec, we demand that the government ensure our safety and our healing (medical and financial) and that it orders that chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine be administered as treatment to all COVID-19 confirmed cases, as soon as possible.
